ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPECIAL WEIGHT LIMITS IN THE TOWN OF MORRISON, BROWN COUNTY, WISCONSIN
WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Morrison has authority pursuant to Wis. Stats. 349.16 to impose special weight restrictions on town roads; and
WHEREAS, roads in the Town of Morrison have experienced damage due to excessive weight on these roads, and
WHEREAS, town officials have reviewed the damage to these roads and believe that weight restrictions on the roads referenced herein are in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of town residents.
NOW THEREFORE, the Town Board of the Town of Morrison, Brown County, Wisconsin, by this ordinance, adopted on proper notice with a quorum and by a roll call vote of a majority of the Town Board present and voting ordains as follows:
Section 1. The following special weight limits shall be effective as of August 18, 2020, on the following Town of Morrison highways:
25 ton weight limit
- Bocks Road;
- Deer Road;
- Hill Rd from Hwy W to River Rd;
- Park Rd from Hwy W to Holly-Mor;
- Mill Rd, from Hwy NN to 3993 Mill Rd/from Hwy G to Holly-Morr;
- River Rd from Park Rd to Man-Cal Rd;
- Holly-Morr from Hwy Z to Mill Rd;
- Man-Cal from Hwy G to East end;
- Sunnyview Rd (north of Wayside Rd)
- Stone Rd Cty Rd Z to Cty Rd W
Section 2. The Town chairperson or his or her designee shall erect signs as required. Wis. Stats 349.16(2)
Section 3. No persons shall operate any vehicles on the above-noted weight limits, without a written permit issued by the Town of Morrison, and any violation shall be subject to penalties under Wis. Stats 348.21
Section 4. The Town Clerk is authorized to issue permits for the transportation of loads with excessive weight provided that the permit applicant provides financial security to the Town that the permit holder will repair any damage caused to any Town road by the permit holder.
Section 5. The Town Clerk shall properly post or publish this resolution as required under Wis. Stats. 60.80.
